KRAKOW

Poland’s Other Capital

Krakow was Poland’s first capital, and it was here that the Polish Kings were crowned and buried. It is seen by many as the country’s cultural hub owing to its wealth of fine architecture, rich museum collections and fascinating layers of history. The Old Town of Krakow, with its Gothic Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary and Cloth Hall, is one of the most beautiful in Europe, and in 1978 was declared by UNESCO to be one of the world's 12 most precious monuments.

Our tour will explore the very best that this historic city has to offer, from the imposing Wawel Castle to the fascinating Kazimierz District, and visits further afield will include the spectacular Royal Salt Mines at Wieliczka plus a full day visit to the Jasna Gora Monastery, home of the famous icon of the Black Madonna, and the fine fortress at Pieskowa Skala.
